Kia Venga (2010 - 2019)
Venga 3
Seduced by the glass retracting roof, it has become the most disappointing car I have ever owned.
I blame myself for not having a longer test run. The car is nice inside but too small for the way we use a car.
The 1400 petrol engine needs to be at least 1600, that would make a big difference although 1 or 2 up it's OK and around town it's adequate but so uncomfortable on our pot-holed streets. Take it out onto a journey where the roads are better gives a more comfortable ride. It is out of town and on motorways that it becomes most disappointing, wind it up to 70 and the fuel consumption is bad. I naturally compare it to our previous car, a 98 Ford Mondeo 2 litres estate. 176, 000+ miles
My last check with the Mondeo, with a top box gave me 37mpg. The Kia driven at Motorway speeds can only just get near to that, put the Top Box on and it drops down.
The other thing is parking, Without doubt it is again the worse car I have ever parked. It needs sensors front and rear. Parking curb-side is also difficult as there is nothing that can be taken as a visual guide.
It is a car which I wished I had never seen the lovely glass roof. Dislike it so much!
