Kia Venga (2010 - 2019)
1 Air 1.4 5dr Hatchback
Delightful roomy and practical car
Bought this following the advice from HJ. Previously owned a Nissan X-Trail (also HJ advice) and wanted a similar driving position and versatile luggage space for my golf clubs.
Have had the car now for 12 months and just had it's first service - 10500 miles.
I am delighted with the comfortable drive, quiet 1.4 petrol engine which certainly gets me and my wife around with ease. I live in a rural area so most runs are a good 15 miles or so on relatively quiet roads. We also take several journeys of 300 miles or so to Cornwall.
So the car gets a good run most days and the long drives are very comfortable and not tiring.
Build quality is good (I have the white version) and the inside is well built and roomy.
I can get my golf clubs in the boot sideways (which was a must) and I usually keep the boot floor at the high level. I do not have a problem with the floor collapsing as others have said even though we travel at times with several cases. I understand this problem was rectified a couple of years ago following complaints.
Visibility is very goodand it can carry 5 adults fairly comfortably - the back seats can be slid forward and back some way to accommodate more luggage or more passengers without folding the seats down. With the seats folded the carrying capacity is huge and easily accessible.
The only slight issue I would have is the fuel consumption - I maintain a fuel record on a smartphone app and currently my average is 38.81 mpg which accords with others on this site.
However I am otherwise highly delighted with this car and the dealership in Grantham and my wife intends buying one in a year's time when we swap her current car.
I fully recommend the Kia Venga to anyone.
Added - Dec 2015. Have just returned from a few days in Cornwall (300+ miles from home) having taken our grandson daughter, her husband and ourselves together with, travel cot, fold-down pushchair and highchair and all the clothes and baby paraphernalia one has to have these days! The boot swallowed it whole without obstructing the rear windscreen. We slid the rear seats forward about 6 inches - so those in the back were still comfortable and the journey was fine so my daughter tells me!
Have now swapped for a new 2015 Venga SR7 so will give my view on that in a few weeks.
