Overall reliability

Very Good Car.A few minor problems. Poor Dealership Experience.

I have only had the car a short while. So my experience with the car is limited.

The Ride:

I found that the car cope with pot holes reasonably well, but under 35mph, I could
feel nearly every contour of the road surface.

This may be due to the tyres/suspension and or alloy wheels.

Inetrior: Appears well put together with quality materials used for the seating.

Steering:

I am tall, and the steering wheel adjustment should go higher. But otherwise a comfortable
driving position. The steering is rather light, but not a problem. Leather steering wheel. It has a lockable glove compartment.

The Engine

The engine and transmission, excellent, and plenty of torque although this is a fairly heavy car for its size. Engine designed in Germany. It appears that the BMW series 1 (Diesel) may have a similar engine.

The Boot:

Boot space could be bigger, but generous leg room in the front & rear.

The Image:

The exterior of the car is good, but could be better. The Honda Civic in comparison is a very good looking car but not very piratical for rear seat passengers.

The paint work OK, but the paint thickness is less than other main stream cars.

Of course at the moment Hyundai are not in the mainstream category at this moment in time,
so it may put off people from buying. I think in a few years time this will have altered.

The Transmission:

Automatic, smooth auto. gear change and kick down, although you lose about 25% of MPG
as compared to the manual gearbox.

Since this is a larger car than my previous model, I have invested in rear parking sensors.

The Tyres:

The tyres fitted to this car, seem to make a bit of noise, so I will be replacing these in due course.

Heating & Air con. No problems**.

Controls:

No problems, handy & within comfortable rear of the driver.

The radio controls on steering wheel.

Diesel, MPG.

Urban about 36-38 MPG.

Short motorway trip, 52 MPG (about 60 mph or less)

To summarise, an underestimated car, with a 5year warranty.
excellent value, hopefully a reliable motor.

The Dealership:

Although the car was only one year old when purchased, there were problems with the radiator fluid below normal & not topped up. Air Con. not working**. Paint work scratches not dealt with, body work inspection book not filled in. Dust caps on all four tyres missing.

Most of the problems have now been rectified by the dealer.
