Hyundai i30 (2007 - 2012)
i30 1.4 Comfort
Reliable, economical, super value for the money.
This car has many features which make for comfort and convenience - aircon, electronic traction and stability control (excellent during a snowy winter), USB and iPod ports, driver's seat adjustable for height, steering wheel adjustable for rake and reach. I paid an extra £300 for parking sensors, this car then cost just over £10K including 1 years road tax and a full size alloy spare wheel.
Petrol consumption varies between 33 urban and 45 motorway, leisurely touring has returned as much as 50 mpg. No visible oil used between annual services.
Original brake pads (front and rear) only half worn at 32000 miles, discs still 'as new' apart from wear ridge of less than 1mm. Services at supplying dealer have been around £120 - £130 each, which I consider reasonable.
