Still going strong

Used sc***page scheme to purchase the only 'brand new' car we've ever owned. Averaging 20000 miles a year (now 143000). 5 year warranty superb, 2 new air conditioning compressors in this time. One engine oil leak and a new steering wheel (paint wrinkling defect) under warranty also. Suffered a number of headlight bulb failures (a real pain to replace - requires removal of whole headlamp unit, not something to do the roadside at night!) now better after 'recall' (they called it something else!) to replace part of wiring. 'Transfer oil seal' required last year - a £500+ job due to amount of work to get to and replace it - don't know if this a repeat of the one done under warranty - it did take a similar time so possible??
Very pleased with overall performance - comparable with 2.0 Puegeot 406 HDI which this car replaced. main criticism is noise, especially at motorway speeds. A little dissapointed with dealer support, particularly in terms of their knowledge of the vehicle - fitting of handsfree phone (Parrot) never quite up to standard (installed along with towbar / electrics prior to delivery of vehicle) and in resolving queries on roof rack (had to get security 'key' supplied separately!)
Fuel economy good on long runs - 55mpg not unusual significantly reduced when towing and roof rack in use (unsurprising really!) - no DPF issues but 150 mile round trips frequently undertaken.
Servicing / running costs now increasing but to be expected with mileage - new discs, clutch etc - otherwise car still 'strong' and subject to costs and reliability, hope to get a couple more years out of it yet - will it make the 200K - us'll see!!
