Honda CR-V (2007 - 2012)
2.2i CTDi ES 4 X 4
Disappointing
Wife wanted a quality reliable 4x4. We spent ages carefully researching different makes and models and reading owners reviews. Wife eventually settled on the CRV. It seemed a sensible choice, well built, reliable with good performance, road manners and MPG. Sadly this was not to be the case. Frankly it's nothing special to drive. It's sluggish and suffers from very light steering, weak brakes, a horrible squeeky clutch pedal and a clunky gear change. The sound system is dreadful and the parking sensors somewhat pathetic. It's also noisey and with more vibration that I feel is acceptable. We've already had 4 brand new tyres fitted with the tracking and balancing entrusted to a high tec tyre specialist however this has made little difference to the ride qualty. Tomorrow it's booked into local Honda main dealer so it'll be quite interesting to see what they can come up with. So far our experience with the CRV has put me off thinking of buying a 2nd Honda (I had got my eyes on an Accord Tourer). I fail to see why so many owners are impressed.
