Can't believe that a Ford could have so many problems
Writing this review on behalf of a friend of mine, he bought the Focus in 2010 based on the great reviews it received.
He has lost all hope with the car and refuses to talk about it anymore...
He uses it daily for his sales job (when it's not at the mechanic)
It has suffered the following faults:
> Turbo failure (part replaced € 130)
> Complete master & slave cylinders (cost a small fortune!! € 500)
> Electronic part (car was not starting, intermittent stopping) another € 400
> Alternator failure (cost something like € 200)
And the latest - Connecting Rod failure!!
On one occasion, the dealer did not have part in stock and my friend had to hire a car - cost him another € 500 for over 2 weeks.
Amazingly, trouble started after the warrantee period expired. Do today's cars come with an expiry date?
Even I have difficulty believing it!
I was hoping of getting a Focus, but now it's struck off the list.
Funny thing how Ford shares its parts and cars with Mazda, yet Mazda are so much more reliable.
