So much better than the reviewers say!

I bought this car to replace a VW Scirocco 2.0TDi 170 DSG which I loved but had to get rid of as my elderly relatives simply couldn't get in and out of it. I considered a Golf but didn't want the old model and the new one was only just out. Paid £11,700 (13k miles) for a former Avis rental car from a Ford main dealer on the Ford Direct program - thousands less than I'd have paid for a Golf. To date not a thing has gone wrong and I love the car as much as the Scirocco, although it is obviously slower. My fuel consumption is around 54mpg and I think this is fine. I never believe the hyped official figures because they simply aren't achievable in a congested and windy country like ours. The car is very nice to drive, cheap to run (second service just done for £180 all in) and reliability and finish of my car is excellent. Before retiring I had a 2009 Mercedes C220 - the Focus is actually quieter than that was and rides much better. Well done Ford.
