Overall reliability

Good small MPV with lots of goodies, ideal for oldies like us with plenty of room for the grandchildren.

I have been very pleased with this car, the 1.0 ltr 120PS engine is very good, pulls from low revs and goes like a rocket. Driven carefully I get 37.4 MPG mostly around town.

The build is good, and the features are useful, I never thought I would use "Synch" but it goes to show, even a 70 year old can learn new tricks! Mobile on the dash and phone calls by speaking the name, beats call boxes any day!

It handles well even if the ride is a bit firm for my old bum, the hill start assist is a boon, Mrs Cygnet loves it. All in all a well thought out design, don't I just love demonstrating the "look no central pillar" and folding the rear seats, it looks just like a small side loading van!

Lots of stuff like heated front screen, stop start etc all add to the enjoyment.

Nothing has gone wrong, no trim rattles nothing. On tickover I have to really listen for the engine, even with my hearing aids full up.

The gearbox is the usual Ford quality, smooth and easy. The ratios are just right giving about 3,000 RPM at 70mph.

The DAB radio is a nice feature, plenty of digi broadcasts around the Midlands so no problems with coverage.

Would I buy it again? Yes most definitely, would I buy the Titanium? Maybe not the pricing of the Zetec makes it most attractive to me. By the way there are, as usual, deals to be had.

Make sure you get the metallic paint Panther Black is nice!
