Comfortable and refined

I was looking for a comfortable and quiet car and the C6 is the answer. It's very refined and quite exclusive with only 23,384 units built.

The strong point of this car is the comfort, nothing else on the road compares to this, even the A8 air suspension is not as good.

The gearbox is very smooth and the 2.7 engine is actually very quiet and vibration free. It is my first diesel car and I was apprehensive regarding noise and vibration.

The GPS system is not very good, but it was developed in 2005/2006... Still have to use my TomTom for navigation. Sound system is not bad, but could have a bit more bass to make the sound more evolving, but it has a nice clarity and the sound stage is well defined.

I only had the car for 7 months but has proven quite reliable. The only issue I have is with the Cruise Control commands on the steering wheel. Seems to be a common issue, you have to readjust the steering for it to work again. Seems to be some faulty connection.

My big problem is with the official dealers, they are dreadful. When I bought the car there was an alternator problem that was fixed and the aircon gas was not recharged. Went to Citroën where they asked for £400 plus labor to change the aircon vaporizer because it had a leak. When asked if they were 100% sure it was that they told they had to remove the front bumper first, but from experience it was the vaporizer. Aircon was recharged for £30 on a private mechanic and no leaks were found in the system. They also tried to sell me 4 new tires.
