BMW 3 Series (2005 - 2012)
BMW 320 M Sport Business Edition
Not as bad I thought (refer to the original snow covered BMW review)
After loaning our Cadillac to our son I was forced back behind the wheel of our BMW. Something has taken me by surprise which has made me totally re-think my outlook on the 2 litre petrol auto combination.
I still can't believe it, but the average fuel reading on the in car computer is totally wrong, despite being trustworthy on our previous BMWs.
Depending on which menu used it now either reads 30 mpg (from new) or 31.7 mpg on the last tank. Incredibly the actual mileage on a recent trip of 535 miles in one day was actually over 41 mpg. With fuel prices being so high, and the 3 series being such a fine long distance cruiser my outlook has changed.
Yes the auto is not as good as hoped, and top gear is not quickly engaged, but interior ambience & quality feel remain.
If you want a comfortable cruiser (with a small boot) and don't like diesels then a 320 petrol may be just what you're after!
