Goes like a freight train but is easy on the fuel too

I've been a fan of BMW since owning a 1 series 116i SE about 3 years ago. So much more refined and comfortable than the Citroen C1 I had before, a lot more gutsy, too!

I loved it but I just couldn't resist the temptation to get something faster and a bit more economical. Was looking for a while, mainly at 123D's and 330D's but I happened across this beauty by chance, found it was close by and went to see it on a whim. Fell in love with it and I just had to have it. Black metallic paint, M-Sport, Coupe, and of course, the 3.0L inline 6 bi-turbo beast under the bonnet sporting a not too modest 286 HP and an (alleged) 5.9s 0-60 time.

It'll easily do 350+ HP with some modifications and a remap.

It's just so damn quick, and for a diesel too! Stamp your foot on the accelerator and it propels you forward in an instant and it just keeps going! The automatic 6-speed gearbox is perfectly mated to the engine and gear changes feel seamless. With it being an in-line 6 cylinder it also sounds more refined than your more common 4 cylinder diesels.

With the car being 7 years old (with 71K on the clock) when I bought it there were a few things which needed to be replaced, in particular the turbo boost pipe which had split and was leaking oil vapour (common problem on these engines and was replaced with an aftermarket pipe). Also had both thermostats changed and new turbo solenoids. Now runs like a dream.

Would recommend to anyone who wants decent fuel economy (I can easily get 500+ out of a full tank) and also has the power for when you need it (or just when you want to have some fun!).

One of the best features, I think, which sets it apart from other 3 series' in the range is the dual exit exhaust. I'm in a few BMW forums and I see lots of people with 320's and 330's doing the 335 exhaust conversion. I think they must be jealous, haha!
