ZR rated tyres - J.B.
Does any tyre techie out there know why ZR rated tyres sometimes dont have a load rating on the tyre itself or on the literature on websites, whereas others have it. How do you know if they are suitable? Mine (dunlops) have the words "max load 630kg" on them but this is only for the American market i'm told. They have no service markings such as 93Y for example which other ZRs do.

if i was unsure about a z rated tyre, at one time i would have rung the local tyre wholesaler, now i would email the manufacturer.

Mate,

Different manufactures do different things...for example, BFGoodridge ZR do state there load capacity...however, I really would not worry to much,,,just call a tyre shop, they will give you a good choice....throw the question a them...make um think.

Drop an email to info@blackcircles.co.uk - they answered a couple of niggling queries I had (about Mercedes specific tyres).

I've no connection with them, not even as a customer!
