Is TPMS accurate?
How accurate are the tyre pressure monitors factory fitted to the wheel rim. have a 71-plate BMW 118 and after using the gauge on the pump to inflate the tyres to the correct pressure, the electronic information screen is advising that the tyres are underinflated. Who do I believe?

We would recommend following the guidance of the TPMS, as most vehicles have an individual sensor on each tyre, so the chances of them all being incorrect are slim. Your owner's manual or the vehicle information stamp on the driver's door jamb will advise of the correct pressures for your vehicle's specification. Once the tyres have been set to the correct pressure it is crucial to reset the TPMS so the vehicle knows the pressures are now correct.
