  I have a 2001 Ford Focus Hatchback. In the last two years it has had no service of any kind, and has covered 20,000 miles. I have added a small drop of oil. Only has 70,000 on the clock.  I plan to run it into the ground, so resale value isn't a concern. What essential service should I do

  Ford main dealers were the last ones to change the oil on my Focus 1.6 Ghia '55 reg and in doing so they overtightened the sump nut/bolt and left it rounded. I used Bolt Grip (made by Irwin) to release it and Halfords has a replacement 'Sump Nut and Washer Kit' HSP608 at £2.99

  I have a 1999 ford focus 1.8 petrol I put in aprox 16 litres of petrol and got 80 miles of mainly (90%) driving on motorways at aprox 60 mph seems a bit heavy. Car is well maintained, tyre pressure correct and I drive as light footed as possible and drive in very light traffic. What do you think?

  Just wondered what peoples thoughts are on high mileage hatchbacks? I have the chance to buy an 03 plate ST170 with about £170k on the clock. It's about £1000 cheaper than an avergae mileage equivalent. I'm told it's motorway mileage but is it a bit risky being that it's a Ford?Petrol?hottish

  Hi, I have a strange problem with my 1997 Ford Mondeo Ghia GX. 2.0 ltr. 147,000 miles. When I turn on the lights I get a strong whirring noise. It stays on regardless of where I set the switch. And it can be heard above the engine noise. It is there with the engine running

  Hi, I have a Ford Focus 1.8 diesel estate. Recently it has developed a prolem with the fuel guage. When it gets to just over quarter tank, next time you turn the ignition on the fuel guage goes to full then each time after that progresively goes down. Anybody got any clues??

  Have just purchased a new battery for my Focus. 6 years old - interesting to read Ford batteries don't seem to last long! Battery is calcium but not sure if this is silver calcium as there may, it seems, be different types. Is this likely to cause problems. Handbook says original was silver

  I have a Ford 1600 diesel in my boat which has the Lucas CAV pump and injectors. I am not sure of the exact year of manufacture but it is around 1990. The original injectors have the number LCR 6762601C. I have been offered a set with the number LRC 6732602C. Can anyone tell if they will fit.
