03 1.4 EAC Fail? - frustratedmondeo
2003 (03 reg) Ford Fusion 1.4 petrol. Just coming back from town & lost power, it wouldn't go above 15 mph. The digital display was flashing "EAC Fail". The engine was also reving & dying on tickover, but not cutting out. Switched it off, restarted & all is fine.

Any ideas what it was/is?

There's a good probability that it's the accelerator pedal position sensor or brake/clutch position sensors messing about.

Get the codes read to ascertain the exact reason. APP sensors are cheap and 4 minutes to change.

my wife has also had this problem, with her car, (same model) only happened twice but now the engine light has appeared on the dash and is on constantly, any ideas?
