service warning lights..OK? 6 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I have a warning device on my car which is to let me know when the service is due.(merc 220 diesel) It has done 10,000 miles at least since it saw a garage and I am concerned that this thing may be faulty. I changed the oil as a precaution but the 'you need a service' sign stays off. Any thoughts? -
service intervals..can they really be ok 31 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I have just bought a Mercedes 220 cdi and am amazed that the service intervals can be up to 18,000 miles. There is a warning on the dash when the car reckons it needs looking at. Has anyone any thoughts on these long service intervals? I still can\'t get out of changing the oil every 6,000! -

I have a '98 Vectra 1.8 which is running a little lumpy. It's done 80k so I went to change the spark plugs and found that all but the plug next to the timing belt were drenched in oil. Doesn't look good to me, is this the head/head gasket? Is this a 'known' failure for a Vectra? What -

My wife's Renault Clio auto is changing gear a bit clonkily and I think that it needs the fluid topping up. The only problem is that there is no dipstick in the engine to check this, only a rubber stopper stuck into a tube that goes to the gearbox. Is this unusual or am I missing something. Have -

Nissan Micra K12 - Strange oil pressure issue 7 Mar 2016 (Forum)
. Upon collecting the car from me, the cousin dropped it to his local mechanic who offered the same diagnosis I did: a partially blocked or faulty oil pressure switch, but it seems, not so. Neighbour has a Vx Combo Van (basically a diesel corsa). The sump pan has rusted to an extent that oil is weeping out through the pan walls. A new pan is £142+vat from Vx. Apparently this is a common problem. I can get a pattern sump off ebay for about £60. What I would like to know is whether -

I should like to change the gearbox oil which I suspect has never been changed; the car is difficult to get into reverse, esp when cold, might this help? I know the engine is a 1.9 Renault, the drain plug appears to be at the bottom of the diff (square drive socket) and the filler appears -
