Diesel and Automatic - ideas? 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
My Dad's looking for a newer car to replace his ageing Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6. He's got around 10k to spend, and needs an automatic. He'd also like a diesel if possible, as nearly all his journeys are long motorway ones, and economy is important. It also needs to be capable of towing a 2 berth -
Slush boxes and caravans 15 Dec 2003 (Forum)
and caravans mix in any case as you do not have the control you need. Plus as small a car as this is not designed for towing and I belive he will just destroy the torque converter. Am I over reacting? -
Subaru Legacy - Owner Experience 8 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Just read HJ CBC Breakdown on this model and, in theory, seems quite a good bet as a used 3 year old buy. The 4WD and low range would be useful for occasional towing plus estate car practicality. Do any of the BR community own one, or know of one, and if so what has their experience been. I'm -

Can anyone help with this specific question? I am about to fit a (second hand) tow bar to my 1995 Rover 820i and have noticed in the Haynes manual I have, covering 1986 to 1995, that the wiring diagram shows connections to a 'Trailer Socket' Is such a socket provided in the loom. and where might I -
Petrol in a diesel car 20 Jun 2001 (Forum)
I had a 'Senior Moment' today. Went to an unfamiliar garage and managed to put 17 litres of unleaded on top of about 45 litres of diesel already in the tank ie it finished up full. I drove 10 yards to get off the pumps and then got towed in for tankdrain/clean, system flush etc -
Blue Chip Leasing. What is it? 20 Sep 2023 (Forum)
I looked at a car today and the previous owner is Blue Chip Leasing. Does anyone know about them? The vehicle has done a fair few miles (60k) and has a tow bracket, which seems unusual for a 2WD. The dealer says they'll be motorway miles as Blue Chip lease cars to businesses. Anything -
Hyundai / Kia 1.0 T-GDi engine failures 2 Aug 2022 (Forum)

Hi all, will be getting another car as soon as we are able to go out and buy one. I currently have an 18 plate crossland x. We will be getting a small caravan (900kg max) and the crossland will never tow it, hence getting rid. Have looked at the Dacia Duster but not sure as they seem cheap -
Tesla, Nissan, Renault ets. - Spike in mayday calls as EVs run out of juice 23 Nov 2020 (Forum)
Apparently the recovery services are receiving a surge in calls from owners of EVs running out of juice. The AA have rescued more than 600 EVs in two years. Most cannot be towed normally and have to be transported with all four wheels off the ground. Apparently on the spot charging -

Kia Carens diesel, any major niggles? 18 Sep 2013 (Forum)
The better half has decided that we need a new tow car for our caravan (950kg max). I'm quite happy with my old Peugeot 405 GRD, but it's an image thing and she who must be obeyed has spoken. After some research I believe the Carens, the old model, may meet all our requirements. Can't seem
