  • Driving gently to ameliorate high fuel prices 6 May 2009 (Forum)
As I expected, the subject of recent high fuel price increases has been forgotten, just as it was every other time there were increases. If the subject didn't get regularly forgotten I'd still be driving gently to ameliorate the fact that petrol has gone up from being 5 shillings a gallon.

  • 'Kangaroo' diesel 12 Aug 2005 (Forum)
My R-reg Mondeo has developed a missing or snatching in a low revs and no load situation. I have checked fuel solenoid on the fuel pump and there does not appear to be a leak on the primer pump. A friend of mine suggested a fuel additive as it might be a sticking injector. The additive has been

I see that a German professor at Cologne Tecnical College has developed a new thermal jacket for a car`s engine, that is claimed to save 5% fuel even during the summer months, apart from the obvious benefit of quieter running. It seems one of the prestige German manufacturers

Have just got myself a very tidy 94 td Cavalier, only problem is the fuel guage. When filled to the brim it only shows just over half full, and sometimes doesn't register at all. As a non-autoelectrician and having had a similar problem on a Sierra 4x4 my main suspect is the sender unit, any

Trying to understand the vast differences between the fuel consumption figures (and to a lesser extent the performance) of a 2.0 hdi Manual and a 163 hdi Auto. Surely the difference is not simply explained by the transmission losses and extra weight of an automatic box? I'd love to buy
