'Kangaroo' diesel - farmer fred
My R-reg Mondeo has developed a missing or snatching in a low revs and no load situation. I have checked fuel solenoid on the fuel pump and there does not appear to be a leak on the primer pump. A friend of mine suggested a fuel additive as it might be a sticking injector. The additive has been in for 3 or 4 days but there does not seem to be an improvement. Any ideas?

Has this problem been deteriorating over a period of time or did it start suddenly??

If it was the latter it could be a bad lot of fuel with possibly water contamination, which is not unknown when fuel suppliers tanks are running low, (with this hot weather condensation build up. Just a thought.!!!

I had something similar with my pug diesel a while back

I bought a cleaning kit (made by Wynns i think) It had three solutions, injector cleaner, fuel tank cleaner and an oil additive.
It worked a treat for my car, The fuel tank cleaner gets rid of any water contamination in the diesel. Very easy to use to...chuck it in the right part and drive :)

Hi
My problem hasbeen solved, A "Cam tuning solenoid" has been fitted to the injection pump by my local ford agent.
This may be of help to someone with a similar problem.
