Anyone got a V8 E39 5 Series? 30 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Hey all, Anyone got/had an E39 540i or 535i? How do the running costs, excluding fuel consumption, compare with the 6 cylinder models? Is it worth the extra expense? Whats the reliability like? How reliable are the auto boxes? Found out I can insure one.. Cheers :) -

My car Mazda 6 Diesel,has an intermitant fault which causes it to keep stalling it is as if it can not find its idle speed and sometimes it sounds very rough for a few minutes like its with incorrect timeing then after a while it runs ok again until the next time. anyone had a simular fault. -

I have bought my son a 1.1 k reg fiesta it ran fine from the seller to home and then when it was started it will only run on full choke otherwise it dies.We have changed leads and spark plugs as well as taking carb apart to look for blockages but nothing makes any difference.can anyone help? -
Rover 600 diesel gear stick vibrating 15 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Gradually the gearbox on my 1999 Rover 600 diesel has become less precise and now the gear stick vibrates annoyingly. It is easy to put the car into third instead of first. Is there some rubber bush or suchlike that can be repalced. Other than that the cars runs well with 186k miles. Thanks -

Common problem, but I am not sure of the solution. The front windows are running slow and squeaking. They need, ahem, a bit of ´lube´. The available lubricants include: KY jelly 15w/40 Washing up liquid Chain grease Light bike oil Vaseline. Combination of any of the above. Thanks for any ideas!! -

any help please the engine management light has started to come on this last week it is a 2000reg 20DL it used to come on briefly then go off but is now more on than off. the engine is running in safe mode when it is on. is there anything i can check myself or do i need to visit the vauxhall dealer. -

Mondo Accelerator Pedal 8 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Just bought a second hand P Reg mondeo 2L. When the engine is running and I'm stationary if I very faintly touch the accelerator pedal it vibrates like a foot massager....lol. I've never experienced this before in any other car. Anyone got any idea what is going on? Many thanks in advance. Dave -

Trying to fit new rear pads to P reg xantia 1.8 estate. The disk runs much closer to the inside edge of the caliper, almost touching it, while there is a decent gap on the outside. Caliper piston is fully retracted but there is not enough space to fit new inboard pad. The problem is the same -

Investigating poor running (pre ignition, top end clatter) on a rebuilt MGB engine that - on removing the timing chain cover- to check the valve timing- that the oil thrower is missing. Can anyone advise exactly what this circular disc does and what happens if you leave it out? -
