  hi room , i recently developed a very loud whining noise in the car , seems to be road speed related , ive jacked up the car and i cant say there is any play in the wheel bearings, tight as drum/s in fact ....could it be a drive shaft letting go...any ideas appreciated...thanks zoo

  this is my first go on this forum so apologies if I'm covering old ground. why don't we surface our motorways with concrete instead of tarmac,surely it,s more durable? I've just seen a programme on the box showing the construction of a freeway in Chicago where they used concrete for it's durability

  my sons 51 reg 1.4 3 door polo,s central locking won,t work from the drivers side if he holds the key in the lock position all that happens is the windows roll down. he is able to lock & unlock from the passenger side. thanks in anticipation of any help.

  hi, my volvo s60 information display goes wrong after a few minutes, you get funny characters or none at all. Switch off the ignition leave for a few minutes and its fine. Anybody know the cause (s/w or temp related H/W??) of the likely cost of a repair. thanks in advance.

  I want to change the rear discs on my 406 HDi 110 S Estate (2003). I've heard that the handbrake is a different entity to the normal brakes. My question is: is it a straight forward job or can I expect surprises, ie. special tool required or anything else like that. Many Thanx and Merry Christmas

  Good morning, I have a 2001 Passat TDI 130 SE estate with 107k on the clock. It runs very well apart from one thing: it does not like accelerating above 3000 rpm. The engine hesitates and will accelerate but in a very jerky manner. Any thoughts very welcome please. S

  It used to be the case that if you took your car in for an MOT a month early and you took the old MOT with you, the testing station could issue you with potentally 13 months of MOT. Is this still the case with computerised MOT`s. Also would the same apply for a car which is 35 months old taken

  Just bought a 2nd hand Megane. When braking gently to a halt I can hear and feel a pulsing on the brake pedal just for the last second or so until car stops. No problem with braking function and it doesn't happen on hard braking, just a bit irritating, anyone got any ideas?! Thanks!! s

  Hi there, I'm hoping someone might have an idea what is wrong with my 97 megane. It's recently started to cut out on me as I slow down to stop. Just before it cuts out I hear a squealing sound like the brakes. It starts up again straight away. Any ideas? Thanks. s

  Do I need to lubricate anything to make the electric windows go up and down easier? They are sluggish at certain spots, and the n/s/f creaks when partly wound down. I'd rather not take the doors apart if at all possible! I notice that pulling up on the windows by hand when closing them helps them
