02 2.4 D5 info display problems - kromax

hi, my volvo s60 information display goes wrong after a few minutes, you get funny characters or none at all. Switch off the ignition leave for a few minutes and its fine. Anybody know the cause (s/w or temp related H/W??) of the likely cost of a repair.

Sometimes these units do fail. The LCD unit is not perfect.

I can't remember exactly how much it costs to fix, but it's not cheap.
