  they decided that the fuel injector pump is faulty but due to the costs involved suggested I run the car as it is. I would welcome any advise, I honestly believe that the dealer is guessing, although the car has done 140k miles the fuel pump was replaced by them some 19 months ago, and apart from this problem

  Struggling to find a coolant leak. It's a slow drip, when engine running it's faster.  Looks like it may be coming from the knock sensor. Anyone else had this? Do I have to replace the sensor?

  I have a 2004 Toyota Avensis auto with 127000 miles on the clock. The idle tickover runs at about 400 RPM and the car sometimes stalls. My mechanic ( an indeoendant ) tells me that he cannot adjust the idle speed. Does anyone know if this is correct?

  Wanting to increase my knowledge. I've noticed a number of cars now have six forward gears.  I expect this is to do with fuel efficiency. However, does it affect driving style ? Is it O.K. just to use five of the gears ? Any increase in running costs ?
