Scenic II Power Steering 6 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Whilst sitting in the car waiting for the wife I was playing with the steering and suddenly noticed the power steering was working without the engine running. I assume this means it has electric power steering, either that or the steering is very light anyway. Any ideas? -
Mondeo Instrument Failure 26 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Hi Has any one else seen this? All instruments except rev counter stop working but car continues running ok. Stopping and restarting the car brings all systems back if only for a short time. This is on a 2002 Mondeo TDi. Brian -

My windscreen wiper intermittant wipe has stopped working. It now runs continually and does not park and i have to select the stopping position manually with the stalk. both speed are working but they will not park. cheers for any advice. wheeltrims -

Vauxhall astra 1998, 60,000m, intermitent stalling at junctions, on slowing when foot off gas. etc. Otherwise runs fine. Tickover at about 850rpm. been serviced and nothing detected by plug in fault reader. any thoughts as to where to start? Many thanks. -
Mazda MX5 misfire 23 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Has anyone any thoughts on a 1.6 Mazda MX5 which occasionally misfires when restarted from hot and will not clear until a few miles have passed and then runs normally. It is fine from cold. I imagine it will have cooked the "cat". Thanks David -

Theabove generally has been a good starter but on ocassions it turns over but will not start Its had the following repairs new distributer cap,relay immobiliser bypassed but each time runs a few days then the problem reoccurs Any ideas Mike -

considering buying one of these from an import supermarket - HJ highlights a fairly low rating on customer survey for reliability. Any good or bad experiences out there ? has the 1.6 got enough poke for day to day running around or will my wife be better with a 1.8 ? -

On these murky, misty mornings I see cars with no lights, side lights, dim-dip, dipped headlights, foglights - and all possible combinations! Isn't it time we adopted the Swedish and Canadian system where dipped headlights are on if the engine is running. I am sure there would be a reduction -
Focus 1.8 TDCi 2001 - 9318 Fault code - occasional engine stop and rough 1 Nov 2012 (Forum)
... I have two problems with my Focus TDCi....150k Km on the clock. #1 Approx. 1 out of 10 starts are "rough". Engine starts unevenly and sounds rough...after 1-2 seconds engine runs smoothly. Sounds like it only fires on 3 cylinders to begin with. No pattern -
