  Hi folks, I am looking at the possible purchase of a 147 GTA (3.2 V6), and was just wondering if anybody has any hints or tips, or anybody who has one who has any advice regarding running costs etc? Thanks in advance

  Whilst sitting in the car waiting for the wife I was playing with the steering and suddenly noticed the power steering was working without the engine running. I assume this means it has electric power steering, either that or the steering is very light anyway. Any ideas?

  Hi Has any one else seen this? All instruments except rev counter stop working but car continues running ok. Stopping and restarting the car brings all systems back if only for a short time. This is on a 2002 Mondeo TDi. Brian

  My windscreen wiper intermittant wipe has stopped working. It now runs continually and does not park and i have to select the stopping position manually with the stalk. both speed are working but they will not park. cheers for any advice. wheeltrims

  1995/6 Golf Gti 111,000 miles Keeps threatening to cut out at the start of every journey. Rather than letting it run for a few minutes before setting off, is there any way to make the Golf more reliable ?

  Vauxhall astra 1998, 60,000m, intermitent stalling at junctions, on slowing when foot off gas. etc. Otherwise runs fine. Tickover at about 850rpm. been serviced and nothing detected by plug in fault reader. any thoughts as to where to start? Many thanks.

  Has anyone any thoughts on a 1.6 Mazda MX5 which occasionally misfires when restarted from hot and will not clear until a few miles have passed and then runs normally. It is fine from cold. I imagine it will have cooked the "cat". Thanks David

  Theabove generally has been a good starter but on ocassions it turns over but will not start Its had the following repairs new distributer cap,relay immobiliser bypassed but each time runs a few days then the problem reoccurs Any ideas Mike

  Advert in yesterday's Sund.Tel. offering Skoda Octavia 180 bhp for £15k and 0% finance over 3 yrs. Have read HJ's C by C brkdown and wonder if this is a good deal. Are they running the model out ? Can I get a discount somewhere ? Are they worth the money ?

  considering buying one of these from an import supermarket - HJ highlights a fairly low rating on customer survey for reliability. Any good or bad experiences out there ? has the 1.6 got enough poke for day to day running around or will my wife be better with a 1.8 ?

  On these murky, misty mornings I see cars with no lights, side lights, dim-dip, dipped headlights, foglights - and all possible combinations! Isn't it time we adopted the Swedish and Canadian system where dipped headlights are on if the engine is running. I am sure there would be a reduction

  ... I have two problems with my Focus TDCi....150k Km on the clock. #1 Approx. 1 out of 10 starts are "rough". Engine starts unevenly and sounds rough...after 1-2 seconds engine runs smoothly. Sounds like it only fires on 3 cylinders to begin with. No pattern

  hopping away from lights having been running fine for the past hour.  We were only a few hundred yards from home luckily.  The next day we went out in the car, seemed fine, running ok until we got onto the motorway when it started running badly.  We managed to limp up to the next junction

  Cubans had a ban on importing cars and so were obliged to run their old models for years. The streets are full of old American cars, with a lower supply of ice cars over here will our motorists adopt a similar approach and hang on to their vehicles for a very long time?

  6 months into used car ownership from a main dealers I have a small problem. The handbrake release mechanism dosen’t always work properlly. I am told to bring it in, they say Mercedes run the warranty but I thought the contract was with the seller I.e the dealer.

  Just spotted my first new Defender. Waitrose car park? Outside Harrods? School run? Nope, it was in the Aldi car park in Aylesbury. It looks like they have found their niche. I quite liked it actually.
