  happened and it transpired that it probably happened when the car was coming down off the ramp.... they are paying for insurance excess, but their initial reluctance to take responsibility for this makes me cautious. It's a petrol automatic model. many thanks!

  to be put on to free up the steering wheel and put the car in N (it is an automatic) I HOPE and pray that a full tanke drain should do the trick.. because the car had not actually run out of fuel am I right in assuming that techincally no Petrol should have made it to the Injector pump?.. of course

So, when I transfer the new reg to the new car does this mean the car doesn't have a reg no or does the old one get re-assigned back to it automatically?
