  Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had this problem? I have a Y reg vectra 1.8 petrol that starts to hesitate when the fuel gets down to about a quarter of the tank? Is this likely to be a problem with the fuel pump? If so, why only when it gets down to a quarter? Thanks Mark

  Just wondering if fuel economy improves in colder weather or gets worse in winter if the same journeys are made. For me I noticed with petrol engine cars the fuel economy goes down in colder weather. Does this also apply with diesel engine cars or does this improve (air density etc) ?

  Do you buy your fuel in £ or litres, or just fill it up? How do you judge your fuel consumption? My current car does 100 miles for each of the top three quarters of the tank so I fill up at about 300 miles or 1/4 on the gauge.

  Does anybody know what the fuel tank capacity is on a 1996 Nissan Micra? According to the Haynes manual its 42 litres but I can never get more than about 30 litres of petrol in, even when the fuel gauge is on red.

  I have a Peugeot 106 1.5 diesel. The fuel gauge does not work. A mechanic fitted a new sender unit but its still not working. Is there a fuse to power this and if so where is it located? Also could you please tell me how to replace the fuel gauge assembly?

  Bought new last September. I have never had anything like the fuel consumption given in the handbook, in fact the best extra urban I have achieved is 26mpg which is the urban fuel consumption figure ! Has anyone else encountered the same problem and if so, any ideas ?

  My Ford Orion 1.6LX handbook suggests that no advantage will be gained from using a higher octance fuel like Optimax? I have read that no advantage will be gained becausse the engine managment system is not set up for this type of fuel? Is this true? Is it worth me using optimax instead of normal

  I have an Escort TD \'97 yr, which I was happily reving along in until it cut out. I have no fuel coming out of the pump and the timing belts seem to be fine, had the fuel cut-off solenoid checked...any ideas. Its nice to have some idea.
