Just wondering if fuel economy improves in colder weather or gets worse in winter if the same journeys are made. For me I noticed with petrol engine cars the fuel economy goes down in colder weather. Does this also apply with diesel engine cars or does this improve (air density etc) ? -

Does anybody know what the fuel tank capacity is on a 1996 Nissan Micra? According to the Haynes manual its 42 litres but I can never get more than about 30 litres of petrol in, even when the fuel gauge is on red. -

Bought new last September. I have never had anything like the fuel consumption given in the handbook, in fact the best extra urban I have achieved is 26mpg which is the urban fuel consumption figure ! Has anyone else encountered the same problem and if so, any ideas ? -
