Almost the perfect family car

Moved from a Passat Estate (GT) which was very comfortable with a lot of space (too much?). Handling in corners was pretty poor and the 1.5 petrol had real issues keeping up the pace I felt after getting used to the daily use.

So, went over to the 2.0 TDI DSG tiguan R line Tech - The engine never feels like it cant cope with steep hills and full air con etc (unlike the petrol passat estate) does a great job. Ride quality is firmer due to the 20inch wheels and the seats are not as good as the GT passat estate (auto seats etc) However, handling is surprisingly nimble, it really is like driving a golf. Consumption is very good on motorways and not bad for local for such a big(ish) vehicle. Plenty of room for large dog and our kid. Car looks great and overall we are very happy with the change. Although the BHP is similar to the petrol the torque is noticeably more rapid, it wont set your world on fire but does a good enough job to get you out of trouble!

As always, dealership were average to poor. Few frustrations and multiple errors on admin (still awaiting resolve) has diminished the experience. VW please sort out your dealerships!!!
