What family car do you recommend?

I am having to replace a 2015 Focus Ecoboost (wet-belt/clutch & turbo failure). I need something with enough room for 2 child seats in the back plus decent boot capacity. My budget is around £10k and have been looking at Kia Sportage/ Nissan Qashqai type cars (petrol) but I didn't want to end up with a 10 year old car again. Any advice on any alternatives? I have also looked at Hyundai i30 but they seem to be hard to come by.

If you're not set on an SUV, our recommendation would be a Skoda Octavia estate. They're good value, pleasant to drive and have a massive boot. You can go newer than 10 years old for £10k, but not drastically so unless you opt for one with high mileage. With a more modest figure on the clock, it will be a 6-8-year-old example, most likely. If you go for a post-facelift car (with the split headlights), it should still feel quite modern, although the pre-update car has aged well also.
