Volkswagen Golf (2013 - 2020)
GT 2.0 TDI BMT 150 3dr Hatchback
Solid, quality all rounder with a sporty feel and classy interior.
This car is everything that was promised and more, with comfort and performance. The interior will surely stand against any comparable make and it's hard to think where VW can go in coming up with an 'improved' Mark 8, when that day comes.
Storage is generous due to the various seat folding options and includes a wider hatch with the removal of small side panels, proving very able for golf clubs, which fit side in, unlike in my wife's A3.
The economy figures are slowly improving , I've completed 9000, but expect this to continue improving as the miles rack up. I am also refuelling every other tankful with BP Ultimate .
Early on issues included a stall at lights following the start/stop, this happened once or twice but having now settled in to the car I am putting this down to my driving and not matching the revs with correct gear. It really plants itself in the corners and seems to have more than enough mid range power for overtakes. It seems completely at home when cruising with effortless and comfortable ride.
