Match 1.4 TSI 5dr Hatchback

Nice car but reliability a big let down.

This car was 2 yrs old at purchase. It had a full VW service history and had done 14k miles. It was in showroom condition. I found the 122 ps engine a bit weak by comparison with the 2l turbo-diesel owned previously, but acceptable and nice to drive.
It started misfiring after about 3 weeks of ownership, and from that point spent most of its time back in the supplying VW dealer. They renewed the injectors and the throttle block, but the car began to over choke within a few days. Exhaustive tests failed to identify the fault during the following month and the garage eventually bought the car back off me following my written complaints. I understand that the final fault may have been a torn fuel pump gasket, not detectable using the electronic diagnostic monitoring systems but have no idea if this is correct.
