For the serene driver, not the boy racer

I bought this car to give me easier access after the Audi A3 Sportback, which has a low roof line. The big surprise was the feel of the steering which I felt was better. On 17" wheels however it is a somewhat harder drive. I disagree with HJ about this. The 15" wheels are better in every way ( softer ride, more economical, quieter running, and cheaper replacement tyres ). Unfortunately 15" wheels are not available on the XL, only the Active, which I would strongly recommend.

Some people find the engine noise intrusive under acceleration. I disagree. It is only noticeable because under normal driving the engine is virtually silent whereas under acceleration the engine revs become detached to the road speed because of the CVT system. You quickly get used to that.

The various computer displays I find something of a gimmick but after a while you begin to try to beat the economy figures after every fill up and soon discover what a quiet, smooth and entertaining car this is, all of which makes for stress free driving. It has certainly put a smile on my face. With bullet proof build quality and decent economy ( currently 51.5 m.p.g.) what more could one ask for ? A spare wheel perhaps.
