Overall reliability

Comfortable, reliable and economical.

This car is the best car I have owned. It surpasses my previous VW Passett, Audi 100, and Rover 2500 SDi.
I am tall and welcome the space and comfort. In addition, the boot space is generous and, because of the design, has no obstacles to loading and unloading.

So far the car has run smoothly with no significant problems; a burst tyre because of a pothole, led me to change two tyres slightly easier than planned and, on advice, I had the wheel geometry tested and realigned.

On a recent trip from Wiltshire to Morayshire in Scotland I completed the northbound journey on less than a tank of fuel. Never managed this on any of my previous cars. The average fuel consumption over the route was 62.7mpg. On the return journey this figure dropped to 59.1mpg because of driving around towns that we visited. Overall I get around 55.5mpg.

With myself and three passengers aboard there is leg room in the rear seats that enable people over 6 foot tall to ride in comfort. The front passenger seat suits me when my wife drives. A few of the fancy gadgets (parking etc) are unnecessary for me. However, the rear view camera is most welcome as is the cruise control and climate control. Unfortunate that there are no front parking sensors.

The fact that the Road Tax is £20 per year, the running costs are the lowest I have ever experienced, and The Skoda has had no mechanical faults underlines my submission that this is a Great Car.
