Overall reliability

Good value, good reliability, good car!

I bought this car with some trepdation. My last Laguna wasa 99 V reg that I bought 7 years ago and after 6 weeks and 1800 miles it blew a hole in the gearbox housing. However I was willing to give Renault another chance and I'm glad I did.

I bought this one with 93k on the clock in October 2011 and as of today, 5th Jan 2013 it's now done just under 123k and has been brilliantly reliable. It'd had a bulb and a coil spring replaced, but other than that I've just had routine services and discs/pads and tyres.

This one is the base Expression but mine had every option box ticked so in addition to standard I have Bluetooth with voice control, Sat Nav with 7" widescreen, cruise control and speed limiter, dual-zone climate control, front fog lights, automatic lights and wipers and a black chrome effect centre console - so it's fully loaded!

The official fuel consumption figure is 47.1mpg combined and I'm currently averaging 49.6mpg over 28900 miles covered - impressive considering my commute includes town driving.

The ride is slightly on the jiggly side round town but smooths out on the motorway, and although the steering is light the chassis is set up for enjoyable driving. The engine has bags of low down torque, so much so that it's not necessary to go above 3000 rpm.

I'd wholeheartedly recommend this car to anyone - although I'm selling it now, it's because I'm after a Laguna Coupe dCI GT!
