Peugeot 308 (2014 - 2021)
1.2 puretech130 active start and stop 5 dr hatchback
Comfy, good power, well finished a bit lumpy around town
I have had the car for a little over a year and I am a pensioner covering about 5000 miles per year.
I like the cars equipment and acceleration after a small turbo lag. The car is refined on motorways any contrary to other reports I don't find rthe gear box lumpy. Rear seat folding isn't ideal but ok for me. Car seems sure footed and ride is good
I am disappointed in mpg. On average I only get 37 mpg and on a long run maybe mid 40 's
The car is high geared and you need to hold 3rd around town (<32mph) and below 50 mph 5th in useless unlike my wife's Hyundai i20 or my earlier 1600 focus
Other niggles: lack of 2nd front cup holder and reflection of internal chrome trim in external mirrors. Sat nav not as good as my free standing one with no option to use a postcode.
Would I buy again? Probably not but I will be happy to keep for a few years. To date I am not super impressed by the dealer and will revert to a private garage when out of warranty.
