PEUGEOT BACK ON FORM

No one can believe this car has only a 1.2 litre engine. 0-60 in 8.6 seconds! Very comfortable, nice uncluttered interior, all the bits (Satnav, Bluetooth), nice auto box and so far good build quality. This is the sort of car that puts a smile on your face when driving, its that good because unlike recent Peugeot disasters, this new 308 actually handles and rides well. Curiously very few on the road. I looked at the Focus (horrid interior), Golf (way too expensive with extras), Skoda Fabia (capable but dull), various Mazdas (nice but quite pricey for what is basically a Ford), and have changed from a BMW X1 which I found horrid (hard ride, clonky gearbox, steering disconnected from the wheels).
I really like the small steering wheel and looking over the top and am not phased by the lack of room in the back since (as someone else commentated) I don't carry the England Rugby XV. Where I do need space is where I've got it, in the boot. My only criticism so far is that the clock is included in the display. Turn that off and you have no clock. Shame Peugeot couldn't put one by the digital speedo readout but overall well done Peugeot - brilliant at last.
