Mazda 3 (2014 - 2019)
2.0 120ps Sport Nav 5dr
Comfortable, well built
Bought as first non company car for 30 years, so needed to be good.
Lot of research, but had already driven one when they launched, as a company car option but went for a V40, which was excellent.
The Mazda was low mileage, around 19k, and just two years old. Soul red, nav, and the 2 litre sport, so was favourite spec. It's been exemplary. Quick, comfy, good spec.
Other than tyres, and front discs/pads, nothing required. Original tyres replaced at 43k, new Goodyears replaced with Yokohama at 80k.
Bought from a Mazda dealer, but soon stopped using them for service, so use local Indy Mazda specialist.
No issues with MOT.
I love it, it's been a terrific car, and as I retired this year, it will need to last me a bit longer. Annual mileage dropped from around 20k to less than 8k before I retired, due to furlough.
Mpg 44-45.
Nav updated with SD card from eBay, for £19, as opposed to £300 from Mazda.
Highly recommended.
Downsides - lack of spare wheel, since rectified. Lack of door pocket & other casual storage.
