Excellent car, good to drive, comfortable

I've had Mazdas before and have always been happy with them, so following a disappointment with Audi I decided to buy our Mazda 3, approx 37k miles at 4 years old. After 2,000 miles and several months I am delighted with this car. It's the best looking car in it's class in my opinion, is well built and feels solid. The rear doors and boot hatch feel a little light, but since the Mazda has a good safety rating it doesn't bother me. The 120bhp 2.0 litre feels quite sprightly in most conditions, although you sometimes need to work the gearbox harder to get good performance. The gearbox itself is a delight to use with a short throw and positive action. The interior is a pleasant and well made place to be, with plenty of room and good sized boot. I'm also averaging 44mpg which I think is really good for a 2.0 litre petrol.

So it won't set your pulse racing, but for reliable, comfortable and economical day-to-day transport it is excellent. Also much better value than some of the competition.
