Relaxing place to be

I am running an F sport with tech pack. It’s really nicely finished. I’m getting 50mpg on mostly motorway, not got lower than 45mpg. Comfort and refinement are better than recent (late) 5 series, and XF (current). The drive is better than expected, and whilst it holds the road well and runs level the emphasis on refinement numbs the feedback. I have got used to the touchpad thing. It’s ok but not brilliant. Mine has not got CarPlay but I think next years model does.

It’s perfect for my needs, absolute calm, efficient and low tax burden. The CVT is fine and actually a lot less horrible than the noise my 520d auto made when I prodded it. The paddle shifters for a gearless transmission are pointless. The F Sport looks sharper, but I’d take the base spec and put the luxury pack on instead.

I’m delighted with it, but my days of tearing about like my hair is on fire are past. It’s so much less stressful this way
