Worst car I have owned (and I've previously owed a Ford Focus PowerShift)...

I have the Freelander 2 and Discovery Sport. Freelander 2 has been and still is a great car. The Discovery Sport has been a disappointment.

I've had 6x visits to the dealer for warranty work in first 12mths. This includes 1x mth of the road for an engine replacement due balance shaft bearing failure (now recognised in topix as a common fault with the 2.0L ingenium diesel engine - across the JLR product line).

Vehicle also suffers from oil dilution leading to significantly shorter service intervals than advertised (advertised 34,000km/2yrs, Original engine was tracking towards 10,000km/10mth before being replaced due above issue, replacement engine is tracking towards 6,000km/7mths).

The creaks, rattles, ticks, squeaks are never ending. Every time it goes in for a major repair I have to get the dealer to address the current interior trim noises.

Ongoing issues with Outside Air Temp misreading (I seen down to -34deg C causing climate control to blast hot air into the cabin on a summer's day), B-Pillar ticking in warm weather, paint peeling from visible muffler, and jurky auto gearbox changes.

Prior to getting to know my DS, I was planning on upgrading my Freelander 2 to a Discovery 5. Now after my DS experience, exposure to JLR dealer and corporate culture, and driving other recent JLR products as loan vehicles it has become clear to me that they have dropped the ball. I'll be permanently removing JLR products from my garage.
