Land Rover Discovery Sport (2015 on)
2.0 TD4 180 SE 5dr SUV
A complete nightmare - 5 times back at the garage within 6 months!
This was my first luxury car and I anticpated a great level of quality, coupled with service. Oh how wrong could I be!!
Upon purchasing the vehicle I had been driving it for less that 2 weeks when I get an audible 3-4 beeps advising of an issue with the car. Unfortunately on my car the display doesn't seem to want to tell me the issue as for some reason this feature doesn't work.
I drive to the dealership who use their magic computer which then advises of a technical issue with my handbrake. Unfortunately they need to dismantle the whole thing so I have to book it in.
Having got my car back they advise they didn't find any fault at all. Another technical glitch in the cars makeup.
A couple of months later I am driving down the road when suddenly, the engines turns itself off with limited steering and brakes!!!! Yes, this actually happened and luckily I wasn't on a motorway. It took 5 minutes to re-start and that night landrover rescue attended.
They told me I had a low level with my ad-blue. Yes, I also thought what on earth is this but apparently its a fluid that injects into the exhausts to lower emissions. What they failed to advise people that was if this ran low, the engine completely cuts out on you without even a safe or limp mode!
I digress, I take this to the dealership having complained to head office Landrover that this is incredibly dangerous and I am considering legal action. The dealership advise they have found a faulty electrical part and this wont happen again. At this point I have no confidence in the car, however I set off home. What a surprise I have when I get home, suddenly there is a "voluntary" recall on my car advising driving it "could" be highly dangerous. How strange that a client of mine who has the same car didn't receive this letter. hmmmm
So yet again back to Landrover who have to fit yet another part to the car to stop impending death. At which point I advise there still tends to be a random beeping denoting a fault somewhere on the car, however the computer in its infinite wisdom doesn't tell me what it is!
Oh well, they tell me to drive off and if it happens again give them a call. Guess where my car is now, yes back at Landrover getting checked out to which I get the response, sorry there isn't a fault showing up on your car! Ok but why on earth does it keep beeping at me and when there is a fault, why on earth doesn't it let me know!!
Horrendous car and regret paying the 30 plus grand I wasted on this stress.
