Kia Sportage (2016 - 2021)
1.6 CRDi GT-Line DCT Auto 5dr
Outstanding value, refined, smooth engine, great spec
Leased on 4yr PCH from main dealer. Excellent spec, great family vehicle. Smooth quiet engine, comfortable smooth ride. Main dealer well organised and good to deal with.
Auto gearbox very smooth (when working!) and doesn't rev like many other autos. Auto headlights and other tech works seamlessly. Slight understeer noticeable on A / B-roads 40-60mph, requiring driver to correct.
Averages 38-41mpg urban. 48-51 motorway @ 70mph. Mid-to-low 40's mpg @ 80mph
Unfortunately, problems with the DCT Auto gearbox have persisted for last 2 years. Juddering and vibration at low speed (3-10 mph) upon 20,000 miles. Most prevalent when crawling in traffic and when started from cold. Change between gears also erratic. Kia main dealer replaced fly-wheel @ 20,000 miles under warranty.
Car returned at 30,000 for same problem. This time, both clutch & fly-wheel replaced @ 30,000 miles under warranty.
Problem has returned @ 41,000 miles just as returned to main dealer end of lease. Unknown outcome as main dealer said they would sort under warranty before car shipped on.
Fantastic car, severely let down by issues with the auto gearbox, as other owners appear to report
