OK but a bit like driving a chest freezer

I bought this car at 3 years old with 16000 miles on the clock via a main kia franchise, it was a quick buy as my prior VW car was starting to rust spot etc so I decided to move it on with over 175000 on the clock. I loved that car.

Almost a year and approaching 16000 more miles on the clock the Sportage is...OK.

The good:

The kids love being in the bigger car with extra space, the higher driving position does give good visibility, and it has been reasonably reliable, though not without caveats. Its an OK large family car.

The bad:
This car is advertised as 60mpg+, so I thought, well...probably somewhere in the 50's then really...the display currently says 42.9mpg and I suspect I am getting less again. This has hit my pocket HARD on diesel, and frankly made me hate the car for the first few months as it was around the time diesel started to push towards £2 a litre. The advertised mpg is simply an outright lie for this car, I have never had the display above 46mpg with my most conservative driving.
The bluetooth on this car was with my, also S Korean, Samsung phone the worst I had ever experienced. Continuous cut outs, juddering etc, truly unusable. I took to using an external Bluetooth module in the AUX port it was so poor, which of course broke the head unit integrations. After about 6 months I can only guess a samsung software update fixed the issue. Between the slightly leaden drive and the above 2 issues, I actually started to properly hate the car over the first 7 months.

Almost a year in I have somewhat come to terms with it all, the fuel economy still puts me off using the car as much as I might, the software patch that seems to have fixed the bluetooth. I swear at the car a lot less now than I did at the start.

The kids still like the space , it's a solid enough family car, but I do not really enjoy the drive due to the wildly inaccurate advertised fuel economy and slightly dead feel of the drive.

I do not think I would buy another given all of this , but will take the life of this car over the next few years before changing for something with much better economy and driving feel.
