Ford Fusion (2002 - 2012)
1600 auto Zetec Climate
Absolutely fantastic, looking for our 3rd FuFu now
We fell in love with the Fusion's looks from the start. First was a 1.4durashift semi auto, has the footprint of a Fiesta with the storage space for transporting goods through the huge low and flat tailgate of a Tardis. Effortless power in both that and our later 1.6 auto. Power steering is light and easy with high gearing, all controls within easy reach. Extremely good visibility and very easy to park. 1.4 engine economical, willing and powerful 35mpg in heavy town driving, 1.6 has lots of power but heavier on fuel, 27 in heavy town, 40+ on motorway. High position is comfortable for long drives, plenty of footroom in front and back, even with 3 adults. Ford servicing has been exemplary and can't speak highly enough of them (Dagenham Ford, Colindale). No problems whatsoever with the 1.6 auto in 2 years, but the 1.4 semi auto (53 plate) suffered a vexing intermittent auto-box problem and we px'd for the 1.6. Fusion colours are particularly unusual and varied. We wondered why we'd never seen a Fusion ad on telly or seen one in the new showroom, and we were told the Fusion sold itself, the day one goes in the showoom it sells immediately. Absolutely fantastic reliable well made and 100% practical little car, can't recommend enough, will be getting our 3rd shortly for my daughter.
