Ford B-MAX (2012 - 2017)
1.4 Red Edition
First Class Drive, Reliability and Value
I wrote a review in Sept 2017 and this is a follow up after almost 4 years.
Since then I've covered a further 20,000 miles. Overall, my B Max has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned, the equal in reliability of a bulletproof 90's Corolla and an S-Class Mercedes once owned. She has never missed a beat and required nothing except petrol and regular dealer services.
The paintwork is like new, the a/c as cold as ever, and the clutch and engine as smooth as new. The B Max has been a pleasure to drive in city on motorway, I regularly do 5 or 6 hour day trips to visit family and enjoy the quiet comfort. The vehicle feels solid and planted. One somehow senses that the people who made her took pride in their work.
The biggest surprise to me, never having had a Ford before, is the phenomenal road holding and pin sharp steering for a car in this class. She dances along B-roads with all the poise of a ballerina. The only problem the B Max is causing me is that being such a good all-rounder, I'm stumped as to what to replace her with!
