Fiat 500 (2008 on)
1.2 69hp Lounge 3dr Hatchback
100k miles and still going strong
My car has covered 101,000 miles in nearly 8 years and has been totally reliable. It's only blemish was a new radiator due to a slight weep about 18 months ago. Apart from that it's just been general servicing and maintenance, a new battery about 2 years ago, 1 new door handle hinge (£10), the front brake disks have been replaced twice and it's just had its first set of rear brake shoes fitted. It still has the original exhaust and clutch. Everything works, air-con, ASC, bluetooth, stop-start etc.
The ride is a bit bouncy, it's noisy at motorway speeds and the steering is a bit vague in the straight ahead position. The leather sport seats (optional extra) really are very comfortable over long distances. Newer city cars (e.g. VW Up) might be more refined but the Fiat has so much personality and is fun. The engine goes grrrrr and it zips around like a go-cart. No wonder there's so many of them!
