I bought this car brand new 2017.I waited 8 months for delivery as we were expecting our third child and we needed a family car with that could take three car seats with isofix points. I got a great deal with a discount of nearly 7 from forces direct. After 18 months we started to notice knocking noises, car went back to the dealer for alarm faults and and various minor warranty repairs. Steering column making noises. I took the car to my local dealer for its last service shortly before warranty was due to expire to find out that there was a transmission leak. Auto box thankfully repaired under warranty after Citroen in denial that there was a fault. 6 months later engine management light appears, intermittent on and off for a few days and booked in for check with mechanics only for the car to break down with all the kids on the school run. Luckily not on a dangerous road. Recovered to my local garage, who spent the night sc***ing thick carbon from the bottom of the engine and filter. Oil and filter change and temporarily back on the road but advised that the car will need a new engine 5k minimum and that I now had a car that might break down again at any point. They were shocked as they had seen nothing like this before. Contacted Citroen who were as helpful as ever (not) Now sold at 34k on the clock with the risk that the car would only be worth sc*** metal. The car was so practical and spacious but build quality and engineering is absolute r******. PSA are aware of these problems and I was told that I was lucky to get 30k out of the car.
