Another year on ...

Well, it's time for my by now (almost) customary annual review and update.
Now on 54k miles, economy continues to be reasonable, at anything from 43mpg if 'running about' to an absolute best of 54mpg on a trip back from the Highlands of Scotland (450 miles in a day). all figures calculated from the odometer and amount of fuel put in, the trip computer is always optimistic.
The car finally needed new front brake pads a couple of months ago - even with the high-spec 'MSport brake' upgraded brakes, the cost for the work (and a full check and clean of the front and rear brakes) was less than £200 at my local independent garage. A BMW dealer would want the best part of £500 for that work.
One minor 'niggle' over the last few months. A slight occasional rattle, from where the door 'lock' button recesses into the top of the door trim. It can be stopped by pressing on the trim panel.
But if that's all I can think of to complain about, then there's not much wrong.
