330d SE 5dr Auto Estate

A powerful, smooth and economical compact executive estate that has so far exceeded my expectations.

The more I drive this car the better it gets. It's now got 4.5k miles on the clock and as the engine loosens the performance and economy improve. I'm getting an indicated 49 mpg from mixed driving and I defy anything other than genuine performance cars to match its straight line performance. This engine and the 8 speed ZF gearbox are a great combination. So far no problems to report and the build quality and finish are excellent. I applied Auto Glym HD Wax when new (rather than pay the Dealer £500 for its bodywork protection offering) and it's keeping the metallic grey paintwork looking like new. I opted for the SE version as I was unsure about the ride on the M Sport wheels and tyres, I have wider 17 inch rear wheels with 255/45 tyres with the standard 225/50's on the front. The combination works well and the ride is excellent on most surfaces, although correct tyre pressure settings are important. I am fitting winter tyres next month as past experience tells me that this power/torque combination through the rear wheels does not mix well with icy and snowy conditions.
