Orange peel paint on a new car.
I complained about orange peel paint finish on my new Honda Civic back in July 2011.
After much delay, Honda say the finish is typical of what their factory turns out. At Honda's suggestion, I got an independent paint inspection. The independent report says not only that the car has orange peel finish but more worryingly any that, should the car be damaged, any repairer might find it impossible to match the factory finish due to it being so bad. In his report, the independent assessor listed other vehicles that he had viewed which had orange peel finish as well as one which had been repaired with his predicted poor match. Honda ignored this.
Is it worth pursuing further? What avenues are open to me?
It looks like Honda may have a general paint problem and fixing my car may set a precedent. I dont want to spend too much on the one hand but would like to have my car fixed on the other.

I understand your complaint. But it could apply to anything except for maybe Mazdas and Lexus models built in Japan where they have sophisticated ovens that rotate bodies on a rotisserie inthe paint booth. I think it would be difficult to make a case in court that the car was "not of satisfactory quality" because the paint finish would be hard to match if you hard a crash in the car. Assuming it is a solid colour, you might be able to get the surface looking smoother by clay bar and polishing by a bodyshop.
